Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary
- Located on the Island of Hawai'i. The Sanctuarys mission is to help,
heal, and find good homes for abused, neglected, or otherwise homeless animals.
The Sanctuary also tries to reunite lost animals with their human companions.
The Sanctuary also offers an opportunity for people to interact with wonderful
animals through volunteering and participating in Sanctuary programs.
HPH Hui Pono Holoholona
- HPH is a volunteer-staffed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to making available no-cost or truly affordable spay and neuter services
for dogs and cats on the island of Hawai'i. Our goal is to humanely decrease
animal overpopulation which will in turn decrease animal abandonment and unnecessary
euthanasia of healthy animals.
Kona Veterinary Service
- We believe each patient and their owner deserve personalized pet care. It
is our goal to treat each pet as an individual as unique as the family that
cares for them.
Feral Cat Coalition - San
Diego, California. Is spay/neuter/release working? Statistics from the San Diego
Department of Animal Control as of 6/30/97 show that while the number of cats
adopted or claimed by owners has remained fairly constant over the years, there
has been a decrease of almost 50% in the number of cats impounded and killed
as compared to 1992 (when the FCC clinics started). Before the FCC was formed,
the number of cats impounded and killed had been going up 15% per year.

the environment.In addition to caring for the nation's more than 60 million
dogs, nearly 70 million cats, 10 million birds, more than 5 million pet horses,
and millions of other companion animals, veterinarians serve in medical research,
prevention of bio and agro terrorism, food safety and contribute greatly to
scientific breakthroughs throughout the world.

Animal Rescue Coalition of Hawaii ~
Our mission is to promote the welfare of dogs and cats on the Island of Hawaii,
and eliminate all unnecessary euthanization through innovative spay and neuter
incentives, adoption support, and public education. The web site assists in
the adoption support and to help lost pets be reunited to their owners.
Hawaii Island Humane Society - Our
mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, eliminate pet overpopulation, and
enhance the bond between humans and animals. We provide shelter and care for
abandoned, lost and unwanted pets, and try to find new homes for the thousands
of animals that enter our shelters every year. We also reunite lost pets with
their owners through our lost and found service and promoting different forms
of identification, including licensing and microchipping. We work to educate
the public about responsible care of animals and work for better legislation
to protect the people and pets of our Island. We offer 24 hour emergency service
and accept any animal at any time for no charge. We never close our doors to
any animal in need. Our 3 shelters, located in Keaau, Waimea and Kailua-Kona,
have receiving kennels available to take in animals after-hours.
